Honda EV Charging Cables
Pioneering Hybrids (1999): Honda has a long history of innovation in electric mobility. Their European hybrid journey began in 1999 with the introduction of the Honda Insight, a groundbreaking hybrid car that offered impressive fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
A Focus on Plug-in Hybrids (2013): While Honda offered the Insight hybrid in Europe, they haven't released a dedicated full hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) recently. Their focus shifted towards plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) with models like the Accord Plug-in Hybrid (2013) and Clarity Plug-in Hybrid (2017).
A Short-Lived Full EV (2020): Honda took a step into the full battery electric vehicle (BEV) market with the Honda e in 2020. This quirky and stylish hatchback offered a unique electric driving experience, but its sales figures remained modest. Honda ultimately decided to end production for the European market in 2023.
Charging Up with Type 2: Despite the limited BEV offering, Honda provides a consistent charging experience. Their electric vehicles, including the discontinued Honda e, utilise the common Type 2 connector for AC charging at home or slower public stations. These models were also equipped with a CCS (Combo Charging System) port for fast charging at public stations across Europe.
